A lightly Restored, and Genuine “Queen Victoria”, Cast Iron Wall Post Box. Made by “WT Allen & Co London”, which is cast into the Post Box at the bottom front. Made between 1881 and 1901, until Queen Victoria’s death in 1901, a “Type C” small Post Box. It also comes with a full set of Reproduction, copied from an original, Collection Time Tabs and a Collection Time Plate. It is painted in the correct “Post Office Red”. The Tab Holder/Pocket is still fitted to the inside of the door, and the door opens and shuts easily. The Lock is a Genuine “Chubb” Original with 2 keys and a stamped metal key fob, plus a brown “Hand into the Police if found” Tab. The inside of the Post Box is untouched, apart from cleaning, since it was last in service. This Post Box is 28″ High x 10″ Wide x 13″ Deep aprox, with a Letter Aperture of 6″ wide, and is a heavy item. Overall it is in good condition and does not have any damage. Nothing more to do to it. Ready to install into your house wall or garden pillar, garden drinks cabinet or whatever you choose. A Concrete “Pillar Cap” is included in the sale, please see photos of what it could look like if used. The “Pillar cap” measures 28″ x 24″ x 5 High. This one is in a much better condition.
