Antique Cast Iron Wooden Folding Theatre Seat Hollywood Regency Cinema Seat. A super decorative salvage item harking back to the early cinema era. This end-of-row cast iron & wood theatre/cinema seat adds antique charm and vintage nostalgia to any setting, makes a wonderful talking point occasional chair and can be used as an ideal fold-up space-saving chair wherever you choose to put it. Originally these chairs would have been in rows, joined by the links on the chair’s righthand side. This one is the end-of-the-row seat and so has the lovely ornate cast iron end plate on its left hand side too. Simple yet graceful and with bundles of bygone charm, this is a lovely chair has wow-factor and versatility aplenty! This is in good condition and is fully usable as a folding seat with lovely signs of wear and patination. Originally it would have been fixed to the floor and would benefit from being mounted so that it’s more secure, which would be a simple project and it could be fixed to a single or double wooden mounting in a variety of finishes, as you like. There are signs of wear as you’d expect, one of the screws on the seat has been replaced and there are spots of the earlier green paint showing though in places underneath the crimson red paint finish -please see the photos.
