Queen Elizabeth 11 “Lamp” Post Box. A correctly restored and complete, genuine “Elizabeth 11″ “Post Office” Post Box. Made by “Carronade” of Scotland in the mid 1980s which can be seen cast onto the bottom front of the door. The Front of this item is made from Cast Iron and the rear is made from Pressed Sheet Steel, hence this style of Post Box were nicknamed “Tin Back”. Also production of this style of Post Box ceased in 2015, having first started in a similar format in 1947, to make way for the modern updated all pressed steel version. It comes with a full set of Period Metal Collection Time Tabs, plus a Black Private Posting Box Tab and a Black Collection Time plate. The Tab Holder is fitted to the inside of the door, which opens freely, and the Post Box is re-painted inside in the correct light grey and. The correct “Post Office” Red on the outside. The Letter Cage is present inside, and the Lock is a Genuine brass “Chubb” Original with 2 keys and a stamped metal key fob. This Post Box is 24″ High x 10″ wide x 13 Deep aprox. It can be flipped to suit either a small or large postbox. The post boxes have 4 screw holes in the bottom so they can be easily fixed to the stand, which also has 4 screw holes on the plate where the postbox will sit. The post box front is made from cast iron and the back body is made from steel. It also features a fully functioning lockable door with 2 decorative keys for access, so your previous post will be kept under lock and key until you are ready to collect it! We also supply postboxes in many different colours, shapes and sizes, to suit any need!
