“Queen Elizabeth 11″, “Wall” Post Box from 1958. A Restored and complete, Genuine “Elizabeth 11″, Cast Iron Wall Post Box. Made by “WT Allen & Co London”, which is cast into the Post Box at the bottom, and the date of “1958” can be seen painted on the inside at the back of the Post Box, although faint with age, which was usually done before they were installed, and a nice touch for history buffs, See photo. It also comes with a full set of metal Collection day Tabs, a Period Black Collection Time Plate, a Black Private posting box tab and a working Internal Letter Collection Chute with original cage. It is painted in the correct “Post Office Red”. The Tab Holder/Pocket is fitted to the inside of the door, and the door opens and shuts easily. The Lock is a Genuine “Chubb” Original with 2 keys, and a stamped metal key fob. The inside of the Post Box is untouched, apart from cleaning, with the exception of the inside of the door which has been repainted in dark grey, a colour used when first manufactured. This Post Box is 33″ High x 14″ Wide x 14 Deep aprox, and is heavy. Overall it is in good condition and does not have any damage to it, after being in use for 65 years.
