King George V1 “Wall” Post Box, 1947. A Restored and complete, Genuine “George V1″ Cast Iron Wall Post Box. It also comes with a full set of White Collection Time Tabs, a “Private” Posting Box Tab, a White Collection Time Plate of “St James Road” and a working Internal Letter Collection Chute and original cage above it. It is painted in the correct “Post Office Red”. The Tab Holder is still fitted to the inside of the door, and the door opens freely. The Lock is a Genuine “Chubb” Original with 4 keys and a stamped metal key fob. The “Escutcheon” Lock cover works as it should do with the key provided that has the Snibs (Prongs) on the end. The inside of the Post Box is untouched, apart from cleaning, since it was last in service, with the exception of the inside of the door which has been repainted in dark grey, a colour used when first manufactured. This Post Box is 33″ high x 14″ wide x 14 deep aprox, and is heavy, which may require a 2 person lift. Overall it is in good condition and does not have any damage to it.
