A Restored and complete, Genuine “George V1″, Cast Iron Wall Post Box. Made by “WT Allen & Co London”, which is cast into the Post Box at the bottom front, and the date of “1949” can be seen painted on the inside at the back of the Post Box, which was usually done before they were first installed. It also comes with a full set of White reproduction Collection Time Tabs, a “Private” Posting Box Tab, a White Collection Time Plate of “St James Road” and a working Internal Letter Collection Chute and correct original cage. It is painted in the correct “Post Office Red”. The Tab Holder/Pocket is still fitted to the inside of the door, and the door opens and shuts freely. The Lock is a Genuine “Chubb” Original with 2 keys and has a stamped metal key fob. The inside of the Post Box is untouched, apart from cleaning since it was last in service, with the exception of the inside of the door which has been repainted in dark grey, a colour used when it was first manufactured. This Post Box is 33″ High x 14″ Wide x 14 Deep aprox, and is heavy. Overall it is in good condition and does not have any damage. Nothing more to do to it.
