Made by “Machan Scotland” in the mid 1990s, and which can be seen cast onto the bottom front of the door. Also, production of this style of Post Box Front ceased in 2015, after being first introduced in 1947, and has now been replaced by the modern updated all Pressed Sheet Steel version, which lack any character, unlike the Original. Queen Elizabeth 11 1980s “Lamp” Post Box Front. A correctly restored and complete, genuine original “Elizabeth 11″ “Post Office” Post Box Cast Iron Front only. Put back to the condition it was in when first installed, and no more to do to it. Made by “Machan Engineering” in the mid 1980s, and which can be seen cast onto the bottom front of the door. Also, production of this style of Post Box Front ceased in 2015, after being first introduced in 1947, and has now been replaced by the modern updated all Pressed Sheet Steel version, which lack any character, like the Original. It comes with a full set of Period Metal Collection Day Tabs, and a Black Private Posting Box Tab, plus a Black Collection Time plate. The Tab Holder/Pocket is fitted to the inside of the door, which opens and shuts freely, and the Post Box Front is re-painted inside in the correct light grey and. The correct “Post Office” Red on the outside. The Lock is a Genuine brass “Chubb” Original with 2 keys and a stamped metal key fob. This Post Box Front is 24″ High x 10″ wide x 2 Deep aprox. And weighs around 12 kilo’s. It can be built into a House wall, Brick Pillar or similar if required, using the 4 Lugs that are on either side of this item to attach it securely.
