This is a very RARE square pillar box, this is the first we have ever owned. This was made in 1974 to replace the defective sheet steel ones. This has also got a small door to the right hand side as you look at the pillar box. Original Chubb locks & keys. Original cage and chute. The Pillar Box measures 73″ Tall, of which around 15 ¼” goes into the ground. The body measures 19 ¾ square. Made by Carron Co Falkirk. We include touch up paint. Can’t Find What You’re Looking For.. Cast Iron Red ER Postbox. This distinctive reproduction cast iron post box comes finished in hand-painted Red. This particular design dates back to 1896, when these smaller “lamp boxes” were introduced to supplement the larger traditional pillar boxes. The design was originally intended to be mounted on street lamps, but can also be mounted on poles or embedded in walls. On this example, the words “Post Office” appear in gold across the top, with a gold crown insignia underneath. A collection times panel appears below the main opening. The post box comes with a working door and lock, allowing access to the pressed steel rear compartment. Please enquire for more details. The Pillar Box measures 72″ Tall, of which around 19″ goes into the ground. The body measures 19 wide. Made by Carronade Engineering Co Ltd – Falkirk. This pillar box is a PB48 Gibbs’K’ Type. Original Rare Queen Victoria Cast Iron Floor Mounted Pillar Box. Excellent fully refurbished original cast iron pillar box – Completed here by hand at UKAA to our very high standards. This is a very scarce pillar box, and will probably be the last we see. Fitted with the original Chubb lock, 4 x keys, chute, enamel plaque and tab (Hard to find complete) and collection box. The Pillar Box measures 58″ Tall x 28 ¼” Diameter Base which is? The body measures 15 wide. 4 x fixing points in base plate to secure to the floor. Handyside & Co Ld – Derby & London.
